Stella McCartney's partnership with adidas goes back many years. Always keen to be associated with sport, McCartney was appointed Team GB's Creative Director for the 2012 Olympics by adidas. This was the first time in the history of the games that a leading fashion designer had designed the apparel for a country's team across all competitions for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
