The year is 1977, America is evolving with the Women’s Liberation Movement, and these two friends; Gale Epstein and Lida Orzeck are noticing the inspiration around them. The two aspiring designers were uplifted by the idea of turning the hanky, a dainty Victorian-era relic, into a confident, overtly-sexual statement of female empowerment. Hanky Panky makes the ubiquitous thong that every woman; from Grandma’s to Granddaughters are wearing.
