Although Vans shoes first became popular with skateboarders who coveted the rugged exterior and sticky soles of the shoes, they are today enjoyed by people of all walks of life due to the classic designs and authentic styles of the brand. Known as pioneers of skateboarding footwear, Vans was launched by the Van Doren brothers in Anaheim, California in 1966 and soon became a hot favourite with skaters in the region. Throughout the decades that followed the brand built upon this cult following by collaborating with skaters such as Stacy Peralta and Tony Alva – the superstars of their day – and in turn became renowned in countries all around the world. In respect to the brand’s rich heritage, many of the early silhouettes which brought the company success are still in production today such as the Vans Era, Authentic and Slip On – and are all among the company’ shop selling designs.
